Matt envisions a greener future for the building industry, he inspires his workforce and they too share his desire to make an environmental and social impact. Matt and his family moved to the Highlands tempted by the freedom, space and opportunities it offered.
Matt has assembled a hugely diverse team including a variety of backgrounds, ages and nationalities. This fusion has enabled Carbon Dynamic to become pioneers in their industry.
Ralph Torr, Operations Manager
Ralph has spent the last 10 years in renewable energy assessing new technologies and the companies developing these with a view to understanding the risks and opportunities. He studied at the University of Strathclyde’s Business School and has a Masters in Business Administration and is also a Chartered Mechanical Engineer.

Max Garcia,Design & Engineering Manager
Max is Carbon Dynamic's French born project engineer. His mission since 2014 has been to integrate BIM driven DfMA processes with lean manufacturing techniques & facilitate an interoperability culture. He is finalising his MSc in Advanced Structural Engineering, which is geared towards investigating the environmental impact of structural systems for a more sustainable modular approach. He has been involved with Centre of Construction + Innovative Structures at Edinburgh Napier University in the development of the Built Environment Exchange (www.bex.global)scholarship for which he is now an ambassador and Carbon Dynamic the earliest adopter.
David Rhind, HSEQ Manager
Originally from Perth, David studied Architecture at Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh graduating with a B.Arch (Honours) Degree in 1976. After moving to Inverness in 1980, David’s interest in sustainable, energy efficient design developed during the 15 years he spent working with Interhabs NS - a design led Canadian house manufacturer and a pioneer of the Canadian Government’s ‘Super E Programme’ in the UK. In 2014 David discovered Carbon Dynamic and has worked with the Team at Invergordon since then - currently as HSEQ Manager. David believes passionately that the exciting opportunities offered through off-site modular manufacture methods can provide innovative solutions to many of our current challenges both in housing and other fields.
Romain Cavard, Systems Manager
Originally from Poitiers (FRA), Romain joined the team three years ago while finishing his HND in Commercial management at Perpignan University. He leads a team that develops a company-wide platform and implements the organisation EnterpriseResource Planning. Sports lover and traveller Romain played rugby most of his life and brings to the team camaraderie and fellowship.

Graham Noble,Logistics Manager
A local from nearby Tain, Graham spent 15 years based in Aberdeen, working in the Drilling sector of the Oil and Gas Industry in both field operations and Project management roles, but most recently working as a Contracts Manager in the Construction Industry. In his spare time Graham enjoys playing football with his local team and Golfing albeit not very well by his own admission.

Roger Siddall,Finance Coordinator
Following many years in a management role in industry, Roger decided it was time for a change of both scenery and career. After Gaining Bookkeeping and Accounting qualifications he moved to the highlands from his native Derbyshire and a couples of years later, in August 2015, joined the Carbon Dynamic team. Initially in a part time role, he was so impressed by our set up that he committed himself to us full time a few months later. In his spare time he likes to explore the beautiful Highlands with his family.
Blair Young, Designer
Blair visited the factory in the early summer of 2016. Witnessing first-hand how the company did things he knew he had to be involved. His aim has always been to design and create buildings that reflect the dramatic appearance of the Scottish landscape.
He received his Honours Degree in Architectural Technology and Part 1 of Architecture both from Scott Sutherland School of Architecture. As a Designer, his role is to produce design and detailed design related drawings. He also oversees projects within the business as a project manager. He is normally found in his Home Recording Studio writing and playing music.
Anne McMichael,Business Development Manager
Anne joined the team after graduating from UHI with BSc (1st class) Architectural Technology, in 2017. Her unconventional CV includes project managing bridges and footpath construction in rural Speyside, integrating business efficiency into a large sawmilling complex in New Zealand; as well as designing & building her own passive solar home there. She believes in considering environmental impact in all that we do and is delighted to be part of the Carbon Dynamic team, striving to make construction more sustainable. With more hobbies than time to pursue them, she enjoys mountain biking, travelling, kayaking & playing saxophone.
Clement Blanquet du Chayla, DfMA Technician
After an internship in August 2016, Clement has started a part-time job/studies with Carbon Dynamic. He is currently finalising his fourth year of “Bachelor (Honours) of Civil Engineering” in Edinburgh Napier University.
For him, the charm and structural capacities of timber make it the most fascinating material in the world of construction. Moreover, the off-site manufacture process of the company is making a daily challenge which is his source of motivation.
In his spare time, he enjoys to play Golf and Indoor Football with his colleagues.
Katie Mercer,Mechanical Engineer
Originally from Bath, Katie is a Mechanical Engineer with a Masters degree specializing in low carbon technology from Newcastle University. She is passionate about protecting the environment and being a positive influence on the world we live in. Having previously worked in mainstream construction, Katie has now moved into the modular realm at Carbon Dynamic for its ability to deliver projects that are socially and environmentally responsible while taking integrated design and engineering processes into previously unchartered territory. In her spare time Katie; dives, surfs, climbs and spends as much time adventuring as possible.
Thomas Woolley, Designer
Thomas grew up in the construction industry and began working on site at the age of 17 in his Fathers property development business. Graduating in 2017 from UHI with an Honours degree in architectural technology he joined our design team in September. He believes that designers have a responsibility and should be pushing for carbon neutrality in order to provide a sustainable future for future generations.

Claire Coquet,DfMA Engineer
A general engineer from EPF Sceaux, France, Claire specialises in Mechanics of Structures. She sees in modular off-site timber construction an inspiring opportunity to illustrate the beauty of sharp detailing when supporting a holistic approach. After joining the team as a research intern, and validating a MSc in Zero Carbon and Low Energy Building Design at Dundee University, she now brings an integrative outlook to design and engineering applied to stylish energy efficient timber buildings.

Rory Doak,DfMA Engineer
Rory is our Scottish born structural engineer. From his exploits at Edinburgh Napier University’s built environment exchange (http://www.bex.global/) programme, Rory has been able to work on a number of projects for Carbon Dynamic as a student while also exploring the social impact of engineering in developing countries such as Malawi. Having recently finished his MSc in Advanced Structural Engineering, he has started to embed himself within the Carbon Dynamic team.
Away from work, Rory continues to explore the social impact of engineering in Malawi; working with a Scottish charity, Classrooms for Malawi, to develop a bamboo panelised system to enable the building of essential infrastructures such as classrooms and houses.
Jason Bell, Procurement Coordinator
A local from the Black Isle, Jason lives and works in Invergordon and is ex army and fire services. He Joined the company in December 2016 as the stock controller and has recently moved into procurement.

Mateusz Jaworski, ERP Coordinator
Mateusz joined Carbon Dynamic mid 2016 and comes from a small picturesque village in Poland called Sadek. He graduated from a Zespół Szkół Technicznych im. Armii Krajowej w Skarżysku-Kamiennej in IT: Web Applications. His role here involves the development and maintenance of databases used for all the departments in company. In his spare time he enjoys sketching using mainly pencil and coal.

Darran Powell,Inventory and Maintenance Coordinator
Originally from South Africa Darran moved to the UK at 16, settling in West Yorkshire. He studied Marine Engineering at Liverpool University and gained experience in various industry sectors before relocating to Scotland and joining us.

Martin Stillwell,Team Leader/ Lead Joiner
From just down the road in Invergordon Martin is part of the skilled floor team constructing our low-energy buildings. He joined Carbon Dynamic following his joiner’s apprenticeship with The Highland Building and Restoration Company.
Martin has witnessed the rapid growth of Carbon Dynamic, working from inside a large temporary inflatable dome when he joined over four years ago, he is now keen to be involved in the trainee programme and pass on the valuable skills he has learnt.
Shian McDougall – Quantity Surveyor
Educated between Inverness, Essex and Edinburgh, in subjects as varied as Arboriculture and Quantity Surveying, coupled main contractor and local authority experience, Shian aims to bring structure to the commercial department of Carbon Dynamic, while looking after the larger projects we deliver.
Seeing modular construction as the future for house building he was keen to join the revolution, easily seduced by the fact his ever faithful companion Buttons could accompany him to the office
In his spare time, he is Flt. Sgt. With the Inverness Air Training Corps.
